McDonald's Tuesdays
Please turn in your McDonald's receipts to the school office or church basement. We are able to purchase many school related items with them. In the previous two school years we have bought with the receipts the following items: a human skeleton, a tug-of-war rope, nebula tracks (outdoor cooperative game), shelving units for our two new teachers, outdoor balls and skip-it ropes, board games, activity books for the 3K-4K classrooms, and many more items. This is a great program for us to get the little extras for our school.
Scrip Program
Scrip is a term that means "substitute money".
When your organization members purchase scrip, they're purchasing negotiable gift certificates that are used just like cash. The scrip is issued by the national and local retailers where many of your organization families already shop. These merchants want to support non-profit organizations, and in return ask you to support them by shopping with scrip at their stores. Your organization members can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials,
and with every purchase, they earn revenue for your organization.
How scrip generates revenue for you?
The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other nonprofit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Our organization buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value. The discount from two to fifteen percent or more is our organization's revenue.
Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising?
Scrip is a popular fundraiser because families don't have to sell anything. Organization members produce revenue by making regular household purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip.
How do I do this?
Order forms can be picked up in the school office. Order forms will also be available attached to the Monday Messenger. Please place orders with checks made out to St. Paul's PTO in the scrip box located in the school office.
How often can I buy?
Orders are usually placed twice a month during the school year. Please see Monday Messenger for dates. Orders that are in the scrip box by 8:30am on the order dates will be placed that day, otherwise if received after that time, they will be placed with the next order. Special orders can be placed for individuals with larger orders.
How do I get my cards?
Cards will arrive at school within two business days. Orders will be given to your oldest child at St. Paul's, unless specified not to. All other order pick-ups can be arranged through Shelley Goede.
How do I pay for my cards?
Orders can be paid for by check made out to St. Paul's PTO or cash upon placement of order.
What does scrip help?
The % we receive from the scrip order is used to update the technology department at St. Paul's. Each family may also designate 2% of each order to go towards their family's book fee, tuition assistant's book fee or all of it towards technology.
