I grew up in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1980, I continued to study for the ministry at Northwestern College in Watertown. After graduating from Northwestern College in 1984, I continued to study for the ministry at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.
As part of the Seminary training, I served a "vicar" year at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. Also as part of my Seminary training, I studied the original languages of the Bible, Bible history, doctrines of the Bible, sermon preparation and counseling. In 1988, I graduated with a Master of Divinity degree.
After graduation in 1988, I was assigned to serve a mission congregation in Keystone Heights, Florida. After serving there for almost 6 1/2 years, I accepted the Divine Call to serve as associate pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Franklin in November of 1994. For 27 years, I have served here at St. Paul's.
In 1986 I married my wife, Nancy. The Lord has blessed our marriage with 3 children: Rachel, Joshua and Katie. Rachel is married to Caleb Manske. They have a three children, whose names are Lily, Noah and Ella. Katie is married to Caleb Nitz. They have one child, whose name is Henry. Josh is married married to Leah Schlecht. They have a son, whose name is Chase. Rachel and Katie and their families live in New Berlin. Josh and his family lives in San Jose, California.
I enjoy working outdoors and traveling. I am excited about the many new opportunities that the Lord has been giving St. Paul's in the area of Franklin.
